Soon Everyone Will Make Films. Few Will Build Worlds.
Generative tools are getting crazy good, and footage is about to stop being valuable. The thing that does not lose value is the world behind the work: the logic, the rules, the tone.
Welcome if you are new here. A lot of you arrived in the last two weeks, and the list and downloads have crossed 900 World Builders.
Most of the new arrivals came through Cinematique, the free prompt library I released for generative filmmaking. It went further than anything I have ever made. Shared by some of the biggest tech writers online. My most viewed page ever, my website crashed!
Thank you for being part of that.

I want to use this email to talk about why I built it, and why I am building everything else around it.
Here is what I think is happening.
Generative tools are getting crazy good. Seedance can render a fight scene that looks like a Hollywood second unit shot it. Veo, Kling, Grok Imagine, Sora (RIP), and the next thing nobody has named yet. The technical barrier is dropping fast. In a year or two, anyone with a prompt and a credit card will produce footage that used to require a crew of forty, plus a VFX studio.
That sounds like the democratization story everyone keeps telling. It is not.
What it actually means is that footage stops being valuable and becomes the slop everyone complains about and blames AI for taking too much water.
Shots stop being valuable. Action sequences stop being valuable. When everyone can produce them, nobody pays attention to them.
The thing that does not lose value is the world behind the work.
The logic. The rules. The tone. The reason a character exists in this place and not another. Seedance can render a samurai on a neon rooftop. It does not know why that samurai is there, what he wants, what the rooftop means in the universe he belongs to, or why anyone should care about the next shot. That work has to come from a human who has built something underneath.
This is what world building actually is. Not aesthetics. Not mood boards. A working internal logic that makes every output feel like it belongs to the same place.
The same thing is about to hit personal brands. Most content production will be automated through APIs within the next eighteen months. Posts, threads, captions, whole feeds, generated and scheduled by agents. The people who get through that shift will be the ones who built a recognizable world first. Everyone else will sound identical, because they will be using identical models.
I do not think there has ever been a better time to learn this. The tools are ready. The audience for distinctive work is there. The window before everything sounds the same is open right now.
A few things I have been working on toward this:
Cinematique is live and free. If you have not pulled the prompts yet, they are on the site.
Yesterday I released 31 Worlds. It is a collection of fully built worlds, one hero image and eight variations each, ready to study or to use. Priced low on purpose. I want it in as many hands as possible.

If any of this resonates, tell me what you are building.
I read everything.
